Gewalt in unseren Communities

In unserer Gesellschaft ist Gewalt allgegenwärtig, sei sie rassistischer, sexualisierter oder anderer Natur. Auch in sich als emanzipatorisch verstehenden Communitys bleibt dies nicht aus. Doch die bestehende Gesellschaft bietet und erwartet Bestrafung und Ausschluss. Dies ändert weder an den strukturellen noch an den individuellen Ursachen etwas, noch ist es von Interesse, was sich betroffene Personen wünschen. Es schwächt bestehende Strukturen und kann sie Repressionsorganen ausliefern. Doch wie können wir stattdessen mit unweigerlich auftretenden Konflikten umgehen? Wir wollen mit euch ein Konzept erkunden, welches sich Community Accountability nennt und nicht nur die Verantwortung der individuell handelnden Personen, sondern auch die ihres Umfeldes sowie gesellschaftliche Diskriminierungsstrukturen in den Blick nimmt und dabei die Wünsche der betroffenen Personen berücksichtigt. Wir verstehen uns nicht als Expertinnen, sondern wollen gemeinsam mit euch das Thema besprechen. Es ist ein Mitmach-Konzept, aber keiner muss vor großen Gruppen reden. Der Workshop richtet sich sowohl an Einsteiger*innen, als auch an Menschen, die sich damit schon befasst haben.

Violence in our communities

Violence is omnipresent in our society, be it of a racist, sexualized or other nature. Even in communities that see themselves as emancipatory, this is not absent. But the existing society offers and expects punishment and exclusion. This neither changes the structural nor the individual causes, nor is it of any interest to the persons concerned. It weakens existing structures and can leave them at the mercy of institutions of repression. But how can we deal with inevitable conflicts instead? We want to explore with you a concept called Community Accountability, which takes into account not only the responsibility of the individual acting, but also that of their environment as well as societal structures of discrimination, taking into account the wishes of the affected persons. We do not see ourselves as experts, but want to discuss the topic together with you. It is a participatory concept, but no one has to speak in front of large groups. The workshop is aimed at beginners as well as people who have already dealt with this topic.
